FEMA Floodplain Information

Ellis County Floodplain Management

Ellis County participates in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). As a participating community, the County has adopted Floodplain Management practices through the Ellis County Flood Damage Prevention Order.

The Engineering Department can provide comprehensive flood information to the public. Residents may obtain flood risk information including: maps, building requirements and copies of as-built elevation certificates (when available), floodway information, historical flood data, determining the flood zone and flood risk for your property, and other flood related information by visiting or calling the Engineering Department and meeting with the County Engineer or Assistant County Engineer.
