Effective March 1st, 2010, the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office will be posting Notices of Estray Livestock on this website.

Pursuant to Chapter 4, Title 121, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, 1925, lawfully impounded livestock will be sold at public auction on the date and time posted on this page of the Official Ellis County website. If you have knowledge of someone who may be missing livestock, please check the Estray-Auction page of this website. If this could possibly be your animal, contact the Civil Division of the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office at 972-825-4967. No other Notice will be published.

Other personal or real property may be listed on this website for auction.

On the 13th day of September A.D. 2022, I impounded the below-described estray:

Animal Type:   1 Horse          Breed: Ghost Appaloosa

Color:  White                          Size:  Approximately 950 pounds

Sex:     Gelding Male              Age: Approximately 18 years old

Brand, Earmark, Identifying Characteristics:  Possibly totally blind in left eye and possibly partially blind in right eye.     

Location of the Estray when impounded:  411 Ewing Road Ferris, TX. 75125

Reporting Party:  Miguel Moya

And, on the 13th day of September A.D. 2022 I filed NOTICE OF ESTRAY with the Ellis County Clerk’s office of Ellis County, Texas.

Notice is hereby given that if the ownership of said Estray is not determined by the 1st day of October A.D. 2022, said Estray will be sold at Public Auction/Sheriff’s sale at:   Station 2 Livestock Pens, 133 Hoyt Road, Waxahachie TX; Sale starting on October 3rd, 2022 @ 10am.



BEFORE ME, the undersigned authority on the 13th day of September A.D. 2022 personally appeared Deputy J. Cozby #404 in and for Ellis County, Texas who being duly sworn deposes and says:

That on the 13th day of September A.D. 2022, I was notified of the above-described livestock running at large in Ellis County, Texas at the above-described location and pursuant to the stock laws of the State of Texas, Chapter 4, Title 121 Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, 1925, impounded said livestock, same being impounded at the above-described location.
