COVID-19 Update

Since July 1st, the Ellis County Office of Emergency Management reports on COVID-19 data as we receive the information from Texas Health Trace (THT). On July 16th, the Ellis County Office of Emergency Management received unreliable data from Texas Health Trace regarding COVID-19. Due to the unreliable data received in yesterday’s report from THT, the Ellis County Office of Emergency Management has worked diligently to uphold transparency by correcting errors in the case line lists received from the State. Residents will see a change in the overall number of COVID-19 cases as today’s update includes the corrected data from the THT report. These corrections include the removal of duplicated cases, the removal of case counts that were outside the county’s jurisdiction, and adjusting cases to the appropriate city jurisdiction. 

The Texas Health Trace Platform oversees COVID-19 case investigations for Ellis County and 48 additional counties across the region. We understand how important it is to relay the information from THT to Ellis County citizens without discrepancies. The Ellis County Office of Emergency Management will continue to uphold transparency by correcting any unreliable data received from the state. At this time it is important to remember that COVID-19 is existent in our community. Each resident should take precautionary action to protect the health of those around them. Together we win.
