The Purchasing Department is a member of the Administrative Services Team of Ellis County. The County’s Purchasing Office exists to provide the best service possible to all County Departments in a fair and equitable manner and to protect the interests of the Ellis County Taxpayers in all expenditures. Included in this responsibility is assuring fair and equitable treatment to all vendors without regard to political pressure or discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, handicap, or sex.
In an effort to provide the best possible procurement services for the citizens of Ellis County, Texas, an exchange of ideas and techniques related to purchasing, administration, and best practices is essential. Therefore, Ellis County holds certifications and membership with the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP), the Texas Public Purchasing Association (TxPPA), National Procurement Institute (NPI), and the Public Purchasing Association of North Central Texas (PANCT).
