Precinct 1 is located in the northeast portion of Ellis County, Texas, and while being slightly over 210.84 square miles, it still boasts over 242 miles of county roadway. In addition to rural county areas, we also include all or parts of the communities in Bristol, Ennis, Ferris, Garrett, Palmer, Pecan Hill, Red Oak, Rockett, and Waxahachie.

Randy Stinson took office as Commissioner for Precinct 1 in January 2017. Born in Ellis County, Commissioner Stinson is a lifetime resident of the area and has resided in rural Ellis County for over 40 years. Mr. Stinson also co-owned and operated a family plumbing/HVAC business for over 38 years. He has been married to his wife, Susan Clark Stinson for 50 years. They have 4 Children and 14 grandchildren. 

Precinct 1 residents are welcome to contact the precinct from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at 972-825-5330. For pressing road issues after hours, please call the Ellis County Sheriff's dispatch office at 972-937-6060. The situation will be evaluated, and the on-call personnel will be dispatched as necessary.
