NEW POLICY

Effective March 1st, 2010, the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office will be posting Notices of Estray Livestock on this website.

Pursuant to Chapter 4, Title 121, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, 1925, lawfully impounded livestock will be sold at public auction on the date and time posted on this page of the Official Ellis County website. If you have knowledge of someone who may be missing livestock, please check the Estray-Auction page of this website. If this could possibly be your animal, contact the Civil Division of the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office at 972-825-4967. No other Notice will be published.

Other personal or real property may be listed on this website for auction.


     


NOTICE OF IMPOUNDMENT OF ESTRAY

Case Number:  20-04098

Date: April 1, 2020

On the 31st day of March A.D. 2020, I impounded the below described estrays:

Animal Type:   2  cattle        Breed: unknown / poss. Brangus or Angus cross

Color:  both black           Size:  average yearling size

Sex :   young bull with horns  /  young heifer             Age: unknown

Brand, Earmark, Identifying Characteristics:     

Location of the Estray when impounded:  2000 block Bluff Springs Rd, Ferris

        Reporting Party :  John Helm

And, on the 1st day of April A.D. 2020 I filed NOTICE OF ESTRAY with the Ellis County Clerk’s office of Ellis County, Texas.

Notice is hereby given that if the ownership of said Estrays is not determined by the 20th day of April A.D. 2020, said Estray will be sold at Public Auction/Sheriff’s sale at :   Hubbard Livestock Market, 3422 State Highway 31, Hubbard TX; Sale starting @ 1:pm

UPDATE: heifer has been claimed by owner.   Bull is still pending

BEFORE ME, the undersigned authority on the  1st day of April A.D. 2020 personally appeared Deputy C.Darling #253  in and for Ellis County Texas who being duly sworn deposes and says:

That on the 31st  day of March A.D. 2020, I was notified of the above described livestock was running at large in Ellis County Texas at the above described location and pursuant to the stock laws of the State of Texas, Chapter 4, Title 121 Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, 1925, impounded said livestock same being impounded at the above described location.

The below listed sale has been CANCELED at this time due to the covid-19 orders.

BY VIRTUE OF A WRIT OF EXECUTION issued out of the Ellis County Court of Law #1 of Ellis County, Texas, in a certain cause numbered #09-C-3492.  On the 9th day of November A.D. 2009, styled:  Milton Ramsey, LLC vs. Ms.Sherry Hi View Real Estate, LLC, and Sherry Sims, a/k/a Sherry Conyers and Circle Sales, LLC, to me, as Sheriff / Deputy Sheriff directed and delivered, I have levied upon this 11th day of February A.D. 2020 and will between the hours of 10:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. at approximately 10:15am or anytime after,  on the first Tuesday in April A.D. 2020, it being the 7th day of said month, at the Historic County Courthouse, 101 W. Said property is levied on as the property of Ms.Sherry Conyers Sims / S.R.Sims and will be sold to satisfy the judgment for $728,758.56 dollars,   plus further costs of the suit.
