Road Closures

Current Road Closures due to High Water or Construction as of September 18, 2019 at 8:00 a.m.

PRECINCT 1:

Ellis County Precinct 1 has reopened the intersection located at 1106 Farrar road & Rutherford Road.

 Safety is our First Priority. Please use caution traveling in this area.

If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to call the office.

PRECINCT 2:

Old Waxahachie Rd – from Clemmons Rd to Old Boyce Rd until further notice

PRECINCT 3:

Auburn Cemetery Rd. at the bridge is closed until further notice.

PRECINCT 4:

No road closures at this time.

City of Waxahachie

Beginning Monday August 19th, The City of Waxahachie Water Utilities Department working with Circle H contractors will be making improvements to a sewer line. As a result, S. Jackson Street will be closed to thru traffic from the E. Franklin Street to E. Jefferson Street. Work will begin around 7:00AM and end on 5:00PM, Monday through Friday. Depending on the weather and any unforeseen delays, the work is scheduled to last two weeks.

TXDOT:

TxDOT FM 1183 project is planning on shutting down a portion of FM 1183 near Alma for one day each from 8 AM to 7PM on 8/8/19 and 8/15/19 to replace culverts. The road will be re-opened at night. Attached are our proposed detour routes. We plan on doing Culvert #1 on August 8th and Culvert #2 on August 15th.  If you have any questions please direct them to

If you know of roads that have High Water over it and there are no barriers across the road please notify the Sheriff's Office or Emergency Management Office or your Road and Bridge Precinct Office.  Do not attempt to cross a road that has high water over it. STAY SAFE! DON'T DROWN, TURN AROUND!
