General Information

The County Clerk serves as the Clerk of the Court for County Court at Law 2 and County Court at Law 3. County Court at Law 2 and County Court at Law 3 hears Class A and B misdemeanor offenses such as DWIs, thefts, and assaults. Note: For felony information please contact the District Clerk

The Misdemeanor Records Division of the Clerk’s Office records information from these courts and provides administrative support through the issuance of warrants, summons, subpoenas, and commitments.

For court date inquiries, or to schedule a case on the docket, contact County Court at Law 2 or County Court at Law 3.

Permissive E-Filing Now Available for Attorneys

The Supreme Court of Texas has mandated that all attorneys file court documents electronically in the ten most populous counties beginning July 1, 2017.

The Ellis County Clerk offers permissive e-filing effective May 17, 2017.
