[ARCHIVED] County’s Facilities Maintenance Supervisor Earns Professional Accreditation

May 8, 2014, Waxahachie, Texas – Ellis County is proud to announce that Keith Roberts, facilities maintenance supervisor, has been awarded the Facility Management Professional (FMP) designation from the International Facility Management Association (IFMA).
“Ellis County is fortunate to have someone like Keith Roberts in the important position of facilities supervisor,” Ellis County Judge Carol Bush said. “Those of us who work with him know that he is incredibly conscientious and professional, not to mention one of the most pleasant people you’ll ever meet. Keith is responsible for, not only the difficult maintenance of a historic building, but the varied demands of the Courts Administration Building and outlying facilities. Each present unique challenges and he has met them all.
“It comes as no surprise that Keith has taken the initiative to pursue and achieve this professional designation as he is constantly looking for ways to improve processes and sharpen his own skills. His attention to proper oversight of the County facilities is responsible for preserving their conditions and saving dollars in the long run as well.”
The FMP credential strengthens the knowledge and skills of management professionals by providing courses in business and finance, leadership and strategy, operations and maintenance, as well as project management.

IFMA is the world’s largest and most widely recognized international association for facility management professionals, supporting more than 23,500 members in 94 countries. The association’s members, represented in 130 chapters and 17 councils worldwide, manage more than 37 billion square feet of property.
